The Center for Sustainable Enterprise is pleased to share that Professor Olga Hawn was promoted to Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship with tenure and will continue to serve as the Faculty Director of CSE and Sustainability Distinguished Fellow.
Olga came to UNC Kenan-Flagler in 2015 and immediately was recognized for her rigorous research and award-winning teaching. Olga’s research is grounded in strategic management and focused on the antecedents and consequences of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR). She contributes to the CSR literature in three key areas: (1) by building more complex multilevel theoretical models about CSR, with a particular focus on the mechanisms and processes behind its antecedents and consequences; (2) by recognizing the heterogeneity of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues and that CSR takes many forms and influences different stakeholders; and (3) by exploring the boundaries in the relationship between CSR and firm performance. Olga consistently ranks in the top 10% of authors in the Social Science Research Network (SSRN). A full list of her research can be found here: https://olgahawn.web.unc.edu/research/.
Below are some notable awards she has won:
In addition to her contributions to research and education, she has been an exceptional leader of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise and we look forward to further collaborations and contributions to the thought leadership in Sustainability.
